Résumé : The ambition of this work is to observe whether the signing of the peace agreements between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP has had a positive or negative impact on deforestation in Colombia. The demobilization of the FARC implies the suppression of a power, certainly illegal, but present in different regions of the country controlling in a certain way the actions of the drug traffickers, the farmers, and imposing laws sometimes protecting the forests. Our research explores the historical and economic reasons in Colombia that led to the creation of the FARC-EP on the one hand, and on the other hand some of the deforestation factors that were maintained and harvested during the presence of the FARC and following their demobilization in 2017. Through the analysis of two departments, Caquetá and Putumayo, both former strongholds of the FARC-EP, we will try to observe if there is a correlation between deforestation and the presence of this guerrilla. Based on three indicators, we will make a comparison before and after the demobilization of the FARC and then analyze these indicators at the national level.
