Résumé : This paper is part of a larger chapter discussing the pedagogical implications of digital fabrication on architectural education, research, and practice. This first article will attempt to historically identify the context within which Digital design and Fabrication came about into the architectural scene through case studies of key architects works. It will proceed with describing the evolution of fabrication places, their various forms, and occurrences. It will conclude with reflecting on how they can best be integrated into the architectural curriculum.
