Résumé : The elastic properties of the lung (elastic recoil and static compliance) were studied in 22 young subjects by a quasistatic method. There is a significant relationship between pulmonary compliance and the height of the subjects, but the static expiratory pressures are independent of the height or the pulmonary volumes. Static inspiratory pressures have also been studied. The variations of pulmonary elasticity with age and sex are discussed.
