Résumé : 1. 1. A fluorometric method for the estimation of DNA in materials which contain very little of this nucleic acid is described. It can be used with as little as 5 amphibian eggs, which contain, altogether, about 0.5 μg of DNA. 2. 2. The synthesis of DNA in developing Pleurodeles eggs has been studied. The results are similar to those described in the literature. 3. 3. In early stages, 80 % of the total DNA can be sedimented by the ultracentrifugation of homogenates. 4. 4. The significance of these results is briefly discussed. © 1962.
