Mémoire
Résumé : | As the competencies for which the European Union is responsible grow, so do the interest groups that want to influence decision-making. The large number of interactions between the institutions and interest groups, as well as the readiness on the part of the Commission and Parliament to involve citizens in the process, have led to a number of decisions being taken in recent years with the aim of increasing transparency and the democratic participation. These include the creation of a Transparency Register, mechanisms such as Public Consultations or the funding of groups with fewer resources. These issues will be addressed in connection with the recently negotiated Digital Services Act, in which the interests of the citizens and modest business clashed with the interests of today's most powerful companies: Big Tech. It will be addressed the transparency of the negotiations, whether access to decision-making was equitable, how interests articulated their’ discourse and the influence they have had on the final proposal of the document. |
