Résumé : | Stenogastrinae are a subfamily of small colony, primitively eusocial living wasps originating from South-East Asia. In this thesis, the focus is on the cuticular hydrocarbon profiles of four species from two different genus displaying two different nesting behaviour: either alone or in clusters. One of each behaviour was found among each genus. First, the chemical signatures of the four species were identified and described. Then, these signatures were investigated according to the relation between individuals, either nestmate or not. Finally, it was attempted to correlatethe strength of expression of those signatures to the life history trait of nesting behaviour. The results obtained during this study showed andconfirmed the clear distinction between the chemical profiles of each studied species. However, they did not succeeded in describing a clearfactor to separate the two investigated nesting behaviours, based on the strength of expression of their Cuticular Hydrocarbon profiles. It would benecessary to reiterate this study, now that the workframe is set up, this time with a dataset of greater size. |
