Résumé : The onset of chaotic behaviour and space patterning in chemically reacting systems is analysed. Special emphasis is placed on the specificities of chemical dynamics as compared to other branches of physical sciences giving rise to chaos and self-organization and on the role of the size of the system as a universal bifurcation parameter.
