| Résumé : | Objective To describe the clinical phenotypes of newborns with bronchiolitis managed by private practice physiotherapists in Guadeloupe during the 2024–2025 epidemic season. Methods A cross-sectional observational study was conducted among newborns with bronchiolitis who were followed as part of the respiratory on-call service organized by the Regional Union of Health Professionals of Physiotherapists in Guadeloupe. Standardized assessments, performed using TOHA®, included medical history, clinical examination, and level of concern evaluation. Patients were retrospectively classified into three phenotypes: mild, moderate, or severe. Results Thirty-five newborns were included. The Wang score was the most commonly used assessment tool. The level of concern remained stable in 97% of cases (kappa = 0.86). Moderate phenotypes were the most frequent (64%). Conclusion This system enables effective clinical triage by physiotherapists in a setting with limited medical resources and may help reduce unnecessary emergency department visits. Level of evidence NA. |
