| Résumé : | Borges has been one of the few Hispano-American authors whose work regularly referred to hard sciences, since the first half of the 20thcentury. «Borges and science» became a minor but recurrent theme in the Borgesian criticism, which in general tends to glorify this aspect and its visionary nature. Within this context, the present article aims to: 1) Give an overview of the presence of science in Borges’ work and provide a critical synthesis of the papers on the subject; 2) Emphasize and evaluate the modalities of the presence and use, as well as the functions of the scientific component; 3) Sketch a typology of science presence as well as its roles in literature. |
