Résumé : | Adequate doctoral training and career development services in academia are needed to ensure attractive career prospects and working conditions for junior researchers. We strongly encourage governments, funders and universities to provide structural long-term financing for experts in doctoral training within the universities. Such investments will lead to (a) secondary subsidy streams for specific events and activities, (b) new intersectoral collaborations and research opportunities, (c) increased intersectoral mobility and (d) active involvement of the wider society. The proposed integrative model will allow junior academics to truly become scientific leaders and innovators. |
