Résumé : The laboratory of Anatomy and Embryology of the Université libre de Bruxelles, placed in 1904 under the authority of Albert Brachet, constituted a very attractive service for young researchers who were not necessarily intended to remain there. We here analyze the works of four scientists who attended temporarily this laboratory (Marc de Sélys-Longchamps, Paul Govaerts, Auguste Weymeersch and Léon Desclin), and evoke their later destiny in other sectors and laboratories, where they will play a key role in the evolution of medical and biological knowledge.
