Résumé : | To decide on the best method of treatment in a case of bronchial carcinoma it is necessary to determine whether the mediastinum has become involved. Radiographic investigations are, therefore, often supplemented by mediastinoscopy and by angiography. More recently scintigraphy has been shown to be a useful method of functional assessment, because it provides valuable information about the perfusion of the diseased lung. Scintigraphy causes relatively little inconvenience to the patient and can be repeated at intervals to appraise the degree of regression of the vascular changes following chemotherapy or radiotherapy. |
