Résumé : Only Campylobacter fetus subsp. fetus and C. jejuni are now recognized as pathogens in humans. The former, in contrast to the latter, nearly always attacks debilitated individuals with impaired defenses against infection and is a comparatively rare cause of disease. C. jejuni, on the other hand, can attack the healthiest of people and is one of the most common causes of acute diarrheal illness.
