Résumé : Total, free and non dialysable urinary hydroxyproline could be determined in male Sprague Dawley rats, 1, 2, 3, 12, 15 and 21 days after the injection of Freund's adjuvant. High values were noted during the first days after the injection; a return to normal on the 12th day was followed by high values on the 15th and 21st days. These values are discussed in the light of the inflammatory reaction (paw volume): while the early hydroxyproline excretion (first and 3rd days) does not correspond with any measurable paw inflammation, a correlation is noted between the elevation of the paw and volume and the urinary hydroxyproline (r = 0.74 and 0.70 for total and non dialysable hydroxyproline respectively) on the 12th through 21st days.
