Résumé : It has been shown that the colour change, from red to blue which takes place when a gold hydrosol is coagulated by an electrolyte can not be ascribed to an increase in particle size. This conclusion is based on the fact that an instantaneous change in colour takes place on adding the electrolyte, even when the coagulation is so slow that the number of particles per unit volume remains practically constant during many hours.
