Résumé : In a group of 27 hyperthyroid patients, the mean serum calcium was not greater than in control subjects although individual values were higher than normal in 7 cases. The mean plasma level of PTH in the hyperthyroid group was normal. In a group of 30 hyperparathyroid patients, on the other hand, hyperthyroidism was found twice. It is concluded that hyperthyroidism is not usually accompanied by hyperactivity of parathyroid glands, and that the finding of a high level of serum PTH in hyperthyroidism suggests a coincidence with primary hyperparathyroidism.
