Résumé : Late components, similar to those seen in muscles with a partial neuropathic lesion, were encountered in the muscles of patients with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy or polymyositis. It is postulated that the production of noninnervated muscle fibers is followed by the innervation by collateral buds of the motor nerve fiber, and that this collateral development activates axons of which the motor unit has been partially destroyed by the myopathic lesion (principal potential frequently polyphasic or diminished). It is concluded that the finding of late components demonstrates effective and functional reinnervation.
