Résumé : The chlorine-photosensitized oxidation of trichloroethylcne in the gas phase has been investigated at 363 and 403°K. Dichloroacetyl chloride is the main reaction product and its rate of formation is given by d[C 2HCl3O]/dt = Ia[O2]/ (k+k′[O2]). These results can be interpreted by the mechanism of the photochlorination with the following additional steps: (9) C 2HCl4+O2⇌C2HCl 4O2 k9, k-9 (10) C 2HCl4O2+C2HCl4, →C2HCl4O2C2HCl4 k10 (11) 2C2HCl4O2→C 2HCl4O2C2HCl4+O 2 k11 (12) 2C2HCl4O 2→2C2HCl4O+O2 k12 (14) C2HCl4O→C2HCl3O+Cl k 14 Rate constants have been estimated.
