Résumé : The investigation of an gas confined inside a cavity containing a strong electromagnetic fields was investigated in a regime where recoil effects was negligible. The observation of self generated backward emission was made in a ring cavity where the low transverse temperature was responsible for collective atomic recoil laser (CARL) amplification. The results provides substantial and systematic progress toward a proof of the existence, in stable form of a collective interaction. The numerical tests allows to convincingly prove that the transition were selected by the steered by the appearence of a periodic atomic density modulation.
