Résumé : The evolution of 25 families brutally confronted with a chronic stress (diagnosis of hemophilia) is analysed with a methodological approach essentially based on the general systemic theory. 10 of them, after a period of severe mourning, seem to have consolidated their bonds and restructured the family according to an open model. 8 other families, after a period of diffuse and poor mourning, restructured themselves on the basis of alliances, with displacement of the conflicts and impoverishment of their affective, intellectual and social lives. In the last 7 families, hemophilia provokes dislocation of the family cell. Those data are discussed; several factors are considered: relational diagnosis before the apparition of the illness, composition of the family, socioeconomic level, familial antecedents of hemophilia, severity of the illness, etc.
