Résumé : In a group of 15 children aged 2 months to 6 years, 25 subdural collections have been discovered either by subdural taps or by surgery. In a previous study, the authors have shown the deceptive results of brain scanning in detecting subdural lesions in children. Delayed scanning, performed 2-3 hours after intravenous injection of radionuclides, represents an important improvement in the sensitivity of the procedure. A particularly useful and harmless technique is thus available for the clinician in cases where the fontanel is no longer accessible. The appearance of pathological images in patients with purulent meningitis needs careful interpretation.
