Résumé : A detailed investigation was made of amino acidaemia in the course of the menstrual cycle in five apparently normal women. Amino aciduria occurring simultaneously was also described. The concentration in the plasma of five amino acids, viz. α-alanine, serine, lysine, threonine and proline was found to be significantly decreased at the beginning of the luteal phase. Urinary excretion appeared to vary in the same way as the content in the plasma, with the exception of histidine, where the variation was oppositely directed. In one apparently normal woman, the excretion of lysine, ornithine and arginine was found to be abnormal. The efficiency of the tubular resorption of the various amino acids can be estimated by calculating the approximate clearance of the individual amino acids. © 1960.
