Résumé : We present a new microprocessor-based correlation technique for photon correlation spectroscopy. We give a description of the hardware and software configurations for 256 channels. The instrument performs real-time correlations in the sampling time range 65-4.8 ms and works in batch mode for sample times between 50 and 5 μs; in the intermediate range, a concurrent mode is used to reach an efficiency comparable to real-time correlation. The present realization has the advantages of a small size and low-cost instrument. Conclusive tests are presented for the analysis of Brownian motion and cell motility measurements.
