Résumé : This paper is concerned with the analysis of a discrete time version of a standard model of interactive diffusion. Both stochastic and deterministic formulations are considered and their main properties are discussed and compared. A normal approximation is then constructed for the case where the population size is very large. Finally, a simple linear approximating process is proposed and investigated. These two approximations are illustrated and commented upon with some numerical examples. © 1985, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
