Résumé :

Report on observations in 85 cases of hypothyroidism. In 17 cases who came to autopsy various changes were found in the alimentary system. Clinically hypochlorhydria was observed in 90 %. Pathological findings in the liver and the bile ducts were frequently noted. Hypercholesterinaemia is considered to be a factor in the pathogenesis. Special attention is given to intestinal disturbances (from constipation to obstruction). Megacolon was found in 22 cases. Thyrosin acts on the atony of the bowel in myxoedema. © 1948 S.
