Résumé : In 2016, the Polish Catholic organization Ordo Iuris presented a proposal to the government in order to tighten the abortion law in Poland. Since then, the feminists' protests started to oppose the anti-abortion actions of the Church. Polish feminists began to demonstrate massively, and many strategies have been undertaken in order to challenge the Church narratives. The new abortion law entered into force in 2020 by banning abortion in cases of severely ill fetuses. The feminist movement is still strong in Poland, and the struggle between the feminist movement and the Church continues. Although many studies were done on the feminists and Church narratives in Poland, none of them focused on their countering narratives. This study aims to determine how the feminist movement challenged the narrative of the Polish Church in the context of the recent abortion ban. Following the Narrative Policy Framework, Polish feminists (women and men) were interviewed and asked questions regarding their attitudes toward the abortion ban. Thanks to the research, I have distinguished the characters that feminists identify as heroes (people and a potential new government), villains (current government and Church), and victims (women and their family members). Analysis of the answers demonstrated that the feminists’ strategies focus on spreading scientific knowledge regarding abortion in society and protesting (online and on the streets). For many feminists, taking any public pro-abortion stance is already a challenge for the Church, understanding that the Church sees feminists’ actions as a "threat" to traditional Catholic values.
