Résumé : | This paper deals with the issues related to gender inequality in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The main point of view is to analyze how these issues are addressed in Europe and more particularly in Germany. The EU is a focal point of this research, since a great part of the directives derive from it. The position of Germany as well at its actions against gender discrimination resonate directly with it. The Europeanization process and its influence on Germany, a long-term member-state are also evaluated. Assess how this transposition can affect the work environment and enable the eradication of the existing discrimination against women. In order to completely grasp the idea of how the directives affect the discrimination faced by women in the field of ICT, the method of analysis chosen was discourse analysis, referring to Secondary Research Design, analyzing reports and papers revolving around these topics. The variety of papers and reports that have been analyzed give a larger perspective on this specific matter and to try and answer this question. The question of employment and equal opportunities concerns not only the developed countries as well as the developing countries that take the first ones as models of success. The main source of documents used is institutional papers, reports from organizations such as the EU and UN. As well as governmental documents from Germany and lastly papers produced by scholars. This study focuses on the analysis of institutional papers to emphasize the issues that are still related to gender discrimination and the changes that occurred over the years regarding the introduction of GM. By using discourse analysis, there is a clear tendency that can be detached from the papers. Therefore, it underlines where the problems stem from mostly. Likewise what are the solutions and resolutions instituted by the national governments to tackle in the best way possible this issue and answer once and for all to the questions related to the gender discrimination in the workplace. |
