| Résumé : | Each country emerging with uprisings („Arab Spring“) in the Middle East and North African (MENA) Region between 2010-2011 chose its own path. Tunisia’s uprisings end up in a revolution which let to a democratic transition. In Syria and Jemen a civil war started and still goes on. In Morocco for instance the ruling monarch introduced a set of reforms meeting people’s demands and pulled the crowds back from the streets. In the same context the EU’s attitude towards MENA countries were criticized, because it closed its eyes for the sake of its own interests mainly for security reasons and in front of human rights violations for a certain time until the outbreak of the Arab Spring.This Final Dissertation focusses on the political and societal changes since the Arab Spring in Morocco by referring mostly to the time frame between 2011 and 2016. At the same time this dissertation examines the European Union’s approach towards Morocco after the revision of the European Neighborhood Policy. Eventually, it elaborates if any change has occurred in Morocco or at European Union level and regarding the relations and interaction between both actors. The research question for this final dissertation is „How the relations between Morocco and the European Union changed since the Arab Spring?“.The total number of words for this final dissertation counts 11.460 words without the front page cover, summary, the bibliography and the plagiarism declaration. |
