Mémoire
| Résumé : | In 1947, the United Nations voted for a partition plan of the Ottoman-ruled Palestine into two states, one Arab, one Jewish. This decision has resulted in many wars leading to the displacing of thousands of Palestinians, in turn resulting in the issue of Palestinian refugees. Since then, Palestinians have been demanding for a right to return to the lost territory. This research examines the political ambiguity surrounding the right of return demanded by the Palestinian population and denied by Israel in finding peace in the Middle East. This topic concerns both the Israeli and Palestinian narratives. The right of return is linked to the complexity of the Palestinian refugee crisis as well as the conflict over its creation. Observations show how the past relates to the present. The present research offers a glimpse into the Israel-Palestinian issue. |
