        | Résumé : | Asteroid coelomocytes do not bear any flagellum but they have a conspicuous pericentriolar complex within their cytoplasm. This complex is always located very close to the cell nucleus where it sometimes forms a so-called nuclear harness. The function of this sophisticated complex is unknown. Its occurrence among coelomocytes strongly supports the idea that these cells originate from the peritoneal (mesothelial) lining of the coelomic cavities. © 1983. |
