Résumé : | An approximate analytical solution for the moving front location is presented for a phase change problem governed by a nonlinear transient diffusion problem. The method of solution is based on the Refined Integral Method (RIM) developed using a cubic approximant. A new closed-form expression for the freezing constant is obtained. Comparison is made with available analytical solutions to illustrate its usefulness. It is shown that the model not only improves the accuracy but also extends the validity domain to larger Stefan numbers. |
