Résumé : | A semi-infinite liquid layer with a constant heat loss at its flat free surface, mimicking e.g. the effect of evaporation, is considered, the gas phase being passive. The Marangoni instability of transient profiles developing from the surface is treated analytically within the frozen-time approach, which ensues upon a certain critical time. On the other hand, steady self-similar Marangoni-boundary-layer (MBL) solutions are obtained. These MBLs can form part of a high-Marangoni-number convection for the times much greater than the critical one. |
