| Résumé : | Pillararenes are pillar-shaped oligomeric macrocycles that attracted increasing attention since their discovery in 2008 for the development of applications in supramolecular chemistry and materials science.[1] The pentameric pillar[5]arenes, the smallest members of this family, are the most studied due to efficient synthesis methods. The larger hexameric pillar[6]arenes are interesting due to their wider cavity that can fit larger guests, and their hexagonal shape that can benefit specific geometrical arrangements in materials.[2] Several strategies were developed to access advanced functionalization patterns on pillar[6]arenes such as C6-symmetric rim-differentiated pillar[6]arenes[3] or D2-symmetric leaning pillar[6]arenes[4,5] (Figure 1). A new method to access D3-symmetric pillar[6]arenes with two alternating monomers is presented in this communication (Figure 1). |
