Résumé : The aim of this article is to discuss the diagnosis, the epidemiology, the therapeutics and possible complications of the treatment of eating disorders, represented by anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating and avoidant restrictive food intake disorders (ARFID). The prevalence of eating disorders is increasing, and doctors need to be aware of some warning symptoms like négative body image, sudden weight loss or growth retardation. The earlier the symptoms and/or a delayed management are associated with a worsened prognosis of the eating disorder. Comorbiditiessuch as mood and anxietydisorders, neurodevelopmental disorder, addictions, personality disorder or suicidai risk are frequently associated. In the long term, the eating disorders can lead to a growth and/or puberty delays, insufficient bone mineralization or fertility disorder. The mortality is linked to somatic dysfunction due to malnutrition or related to suicidai behaviors. The treatment needs a multidisciplinary management with a particular attention to the psychological comorbidities and psychosocial difficulties.
