Résumé : This research proposes a conceptual framework to analyse the value of space in three dimensions: exchange value (the price at which it can be sold or rent), use value (the recognition of its material qualities to answer a series of needs), and symbolic value (the recognition of its affective qualities and its evocative power. Coupled with the concept of appropriation of space, we apply this framework to three transitory urbanism projects and demonstrate its theoretical relevance for better understanding the mechanisms of production and distribution of value of space.
