Résumé : Abstract: This entry discusses parallel systems, a class of mixed systems that does not compensate for the disproportionality introduced by plurality-majority methods used for one share of seats. It indicates the countries that rely on parallel systems and provides a review of the potential consequences of parallel systems for the party system, politicians, and voters.
