Résumé : This article examines the Geneva reprint (1776–1777) of the Courier de l’Europe, a French-language periodical published in London and circulated widely across Europe during the American War of Independence. Based on a comparison between the original edition and the Geneva reprint, it analyses the material, typographical, and textual features of the reproduction.Although the Geneva edition closely follows the London original, it introduces significant modifications in format, layout, and paratextual elements, which affect the organization and readability of information. Textual variations remain limited but include a number of corrections, omissions, and additions. These changes mainly concern news related to France and reflect the political context as well as the constraints of censorship and self-censorship.The article also considers the role of the reprint within the broader publishing strategies of the Geneva printers, highlighting its economic and promotional functions. It shows how the integration of a periodical into a printing business contributed to expanding readership and structuring the circulation of information in late eighteenth-century Europe.
