| Résumé : | The present work aims to explore whether and how the reading of narrative texts may influence the different components of metacognition, and how this activity can be functionally integrated into clinical practice. To this end, a narrative review of the scientific literature was conducted through consultation of three major databases: PsycINFO, PubMed, and Scopus. The findings indicate that, despite the growing interest in the use of reading within psychological contexts, empirical evidence on the relationship between narrative and metacognition remains limited. In particular, only one experimental study was identified that evaluated the effectiveness of a bibliotherapy-based intervention in psychiatric patients, reporting encouraging but not yet conclusive preliminary results. These data highlight the importance of developing further research with more methodologically robust designs in order to better understand the role of narrative reading in metacognitive processes and to assess its effectiveness as a clinical resource in psychotherapeutic treatment. |
