| Résumé : | This chapter explores how the protection of whistleblowers may play a key role in the fight against corruption and unethical behaviour, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability. It does so by first exploring the foundational role of whistleblowers in promoting ethical behaviour within the EU. Second, it analyses the existing whistleblower protection mechanisms, including the Whistleblower Protection Directive, assessing its application and limitations. Third, it offers practical recommendations to extend and adapt these protections to EU institutions, creating a more coherent and effective framework for safeguarding public integrity, before formulating some final recommendations. |
