Résumé : Among the many figure vases from pharaonic Egypt, a small group stands out for the presence of added elements that identify the jar with a mourning female figure, the arms raised towards the head. These "Isis-vases" are particularly well attested in the Theban necropolis at the beginning of the New Kingdom, and are archaeological evidence of the rituals probably performed during funerals. Presented here are 22 previously unpublished examples from the early French excavations at the site of Deir el-Medina.
