| Résumé : | This section of the book summarizes the results of all case studies carried out in the eight countries and analyses them to identify the complex interplay among drivers, across countries, regions and a variety of community contexts. Indeed, common cross-regional patterns such as online socialization replacing traditional educational and leisure spaces for youth have been identified across countries. The same dynamics of opposition to state institutions and security actors coincide across football fans’ clubs, which become spaces for youth participation in the absence of traditional ones. The complex interplay between religion, political grievances, and governance models is also discussed thoroughly. All case studies feature crucial elements linked to youth alienation and underrepresentation, as well as to the impact of external actors and digital communities. The chapter ends with a detailed list of recommendations addressed to different institutional actors at the local, national, and international levels. |
