Résumé : | This chapter draws on three collaborative experiments based in Germany, Belgium, and Brazil to explore soil literacy through conversation as both method and medium. Engaging with the projects Open Soil Atlas and Super Terram, along with a pedagogy of Soil-idarity, the authors develop new vocabularies for collective engagement with urban soil. The conversation bridges theoretical and practice-based perspectives to inform a series of experimental workshops that foreground participatory, sensory, and biographical methods. In doing so, the chapter challenges dominant Western epistemologies and calls for plural, locally grounded understandings of soil. The authors propose that urban soil practices can expand prevailing notions of health beyond anthropocentric definitions tied to productivity and purity. Ultimately, the chapter highlights the transformative potential of collaborative methods to reframe soil knowledge and contribute to more inclusive and ecologically attuned urban planning and design. |
