Résumé : | As the colour palette of the world’s waters diversifies with the progression of climate change – dramatically illustrating its impact on our rivers, lakes, seas, oceans, and even glaciers – the adjective “blue” associated with the humanities no longer seems to fully capture the scope of ecological challenges brought about by contemporary anthropogenic changes. The “Water Cultures” research group, whose selected findings are presented in this volume, has set itself the goal of exploring water in all its chromatic diversity and broadening the spectrum of studies dedicated to this essential element through an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach. Indeed, the richness of the humanities lies in the diversity of the methods available and in the ability to approach water through the lens of various languages and cultural traditions, thereby creating bridges between scientific disciplines and cultures as they mutually nourish and irrigate one another. |
