Résumé : Scholars have repeatedly been engaged in addressing inequalities in the European Union (EU) and assessing the role the EU might play in mitigating them. In this introductory chapter, the innovative dimension of the book is highlighted. It resides not only in its interdisciplinary approach, analysing inequalities across different policy fields with various disciplinary lenses, but also in the different types of inequalities that are identified. The chapters it contains tackle new frontiers in research and policy relating to anti-discrimination, mobility, and socio-economic governance, as the present chapter demonstrates replacing them in current policy and academic debates.
