Résumé : This concluding section summarises the findings of the volume on intimate diversity in Belgium. It brings out two interesting empirical observations: first, contexts do structure people’s lives but not all the time, as individuals are agentic beings with sources of support; and second, conjugal mixedness unfolds in a fluctuating manner and displays a plural nature with various characteristics and configurations as well as with experiential and existential dimensions. These observations suggest that intimate diversity encompasses other forms of intimate diversity at a more micro social scale within which a variety of conjugal mixedness situations co-exist and often overlap with one another. The concluding section ends with prospects on the study of conjugal mixedness and with a call for adopting mixed research methods.
