Résumé : This PhD thesis, conducted between the Université de Mons and the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, focuses on the development of waveguides and Bragg gratings in pure silica planar substrates using a femtosecond laser process. Originating from Gerard Mourou's 1985 discoveries, femtosecond lasers have revolutionized precision micro-structuring. This research investigates the impact of various parameters on the Femtoprint process, aiming to fabricate an optical waveguide with a uniform Bragg grating in fused silica. The study also includes the optimization of cavities for optimal optical connection. Characterization methods like Digital Holographic Microscope analysis, polarization-based spectral measurements, and infrared imaging were employed. The in-built Bragg gratings were tested for temperature and mechanical sensitivities, showing promising results for advanced instrumentation in fields such as photonics, biomedical engineering, and environmental monitoring due to their properties and durability.
