Résumé : | During an upper limb dissection session, medical students noticed a unilateral high origin and superficial position of the ulnar artery. This abnormality is already described but quite uncommon. It is explained by the upper limb arterial development, which was enlightened by the Ghent embryologist Bertha De Vriese in 1905. We look back at the life and career of this unknown scientist, who unfortunately was unrecognized by her peers, partly because she was a woman. |
