Résumé : The aim of this paper is to provide a quick update on the text of Tibullus I 1, 48, more specifically on the competing readings igne, given by almost all the manuscripts, and imbre, found in the Guelferbytanus 82.6 Aug. F° (G), as well as in the Excerpta Parisina. For ages, critics have appeared divided on the question, but a review of the arguments proposed over time and the presentation of elements of criticism internal and external to the text itself make it possible to opt for igne. The parallels suggested in order to impose imbre suffer from a lack of relevance. Only igne guarantees the full deployment of Tibullus' catalogue of images and themes in the text, while avoiding possible misinterpretation and consolidating the unity of the poem.
