| Résumé : | With the European elections just around the corner and, in Belgium, the legislative and regional elections taking place on the same day, the political system seems to be at a standstill. In 2024, Belgium is holding the presidency of the European Union. It will be assumed by a federal government out of breath and focused on the elections on 9 June 2024. Elections will take place in a more and more fragmented political system and delivering large governments, unable to tackle the main problems of the society. Confidence in politics and political parties is at very low level and the fate of the federal State is being questioned by Flemish nationalist parties, calling for the advent of confederalism or even Flemish independence. |
