| Résumé : | The purpose of this essay is to create an overview of Asta Nielsen’s extant dance sequences and to analyze them from both a filmic and a choreographic viewpoint in order to assess their semantic value in light of their historical context. This will demonstrate the prevalence of her on-screen depiction of an empowered woman, an icon that still “speaks” to audiences nowadays. |
